Croatian National Theater (HNK) in Zagreb is closing its doors for the season on Friday, July 1st with a concert of Zagreb evergreens. Songs from poets and musicians who’s music has embedded itself into the collective consciousness of the city will be performed by the orchestra and sang by opera singers, soloist and actors from the theater.
‘The concert titled Zagreb and I, Secretly in Love, named after the famed song by Arsen Dedić, is a unique opportunity for the audiences to experience a more non-formal and different view of our top performers, so that we can, together, explore the spirit of the city we love trough music’, stated the organizers.
The program will include a combination of old Zagreb melodies and international evergreens like Caruso, Summertime, La Musica di Notte…and they will be performed by the members of Opera, Drama and Ballet of the national theater: Ivanka Boljkovac, Dubravka Šeparović Mušović, Adela Golac Rilović, Kristijan Beluhan, Ivo Gamulin Gianni, Rieka Suzuki, Simon Yoshida, Ksenija Marinković, Jadranka Đokić, Nikša Kušelj, Silvio Vovk and Ante Gelo.
Croatian National Theater’s annual awards for excellence will be held prior to the concert and a party with several DJs will be held in front of the theater after the concert.
The concerts starts at 8pm, and tickets cost 50/70 kn (dependent on the seating in the theater).
