Passion, music and dancing in the heart of Zagreb

Petrica Kerempuh square, just above Dolac market will be a place of dancing, music and passion in the rhythms of Spanish guitars for three days as the fourth Flamenco Festival Zagreb bring us some of the best performers around. This year’s festival, witch lasts from 18th to 20th of July, is dedicated to legendary guitarist Paco de Lucíi. Most of the events during the festival are free, with organizers hoping to spread the love they have for flamenco with other people.
‘I’ve fell in love with flamenco by accident’, says Nina Coric, one of the organizers; ‘I was at a concert a few years ago and one of the songs moved me so much that I started singing it out loud in the middle of the band’s performance. After that I started performing as a flamenco artist, and then came the festival. It was a labor of love, and every year that love only gets bigger.’Performing on the opening night is

Performing on the opening night is Jorge Canda Neira, a renowned Spanish guitarists backed by vocals from Ángela Lópeza de Toroan and Nina Corić. During the concert, there will be performances by flamenco dancers Andreja Lolic, Anja Mejacc and Mitja Obed. Day two will also start off with flamenco dancers followed by a documentary Francisco Sánchez. Paco de Lucia., depicting the famous artist’s life and career.

On the final night, the festival moves to Gavella theater in Frankopanska street, where the famous flamenco dancer Yolanda Osuna will perform her play Tres Puntales.
