On the 2nd of May, 2019 the Utrecht Student Orchestra will perform in the Croatian Music Institute in Zagreb (Ivana Gundulića, 6) with a start at 11 am. They’re coming to Zagreb within their Spring 2019 Tour, during which they’ll visit Split as well.
The Utrecht Student Orchestra, founded in 1823, is the oldest symphonic orchestra of the Netherlands. Around 90 enthusiastic students from Utrecht combine academic studies with their passion for music. The orchestra, led by conductor Bas Pollard, belongs to the top of non-professional orchestras in the Netherlands.
For their Zagreb concert they will perform the Symphonic Dances by Rachmaninoff, Violin Concerto No. 1 by Karol Szymanowski performed by the young rising star Pieter van Loenen and a newly written piece by the composer Niels Hak. The entrance is free of charge.
