How to position your brand on the market, how to develop web pages and apps for clients on different continents, why is it good to be a freelance software developer and how to make a plugin for a free video chat? These were just some of the themes discussed on the first day of WebCamp conference for web development and design, held in Zagreb. More than eight hundred professional and aspiring developers and software experts from all around Europe have gathered on the first day of the conference at Hypo center in Trnjanska struga street 5.
‘I’ve been working in user support for a couple of years and have decided to change my profession,’ says Katrin from Berlin as she waits for the next lecture to start.
‘Programming always seemed interesting to me, so I started learning how to write code, mostly in PHP. WebCamp is one of the most prolific conferences in this part of Europe so I came here to learn as much as I can and use this opportunity to see finally Croatia. I’m heading to the seaside after the conference ends.’
The second day of the conference will start with a keynote lecture from Jamie Levy ‘What the hell is UX Strategy and why it’s crucial’, followed by lectures ranging from security to cloud servers and better user interface experiences to time management with systems for multiple site maintenance and elements of modern web applications.
If you’re a web developer or designer visiting Zagreb make sure to visit WebCamp on Sunday and hang out with the leading professionals in the field.
