The seventh edition of the contemporary circus festival will be held from May 1st till May 20th, 2019 in the tent of CirkoBalkana which will be located in the yard of Pogon – Zagreb Center for Independent Culture and Youth (Trnjanski nasip bb).
The idea of a travelling festival will, same as before, be realized with the united forces of its originators Cirkusfera (SRB) and Cirkorama (CRO) with new partners – Un Loup Pour l’Homme (FR), who come with their tent as part of the Ride & Camp project, and old partners – Gledališče Ane Monro (SLO). Realization is planned in the form of a creative trilogy that will take place in May in Zagreb (CRO), in June in Ljubljana (SLO) and in September in Belgrade (SRB).
CirkoBalkana and Ride & Camp will open their doors to the entire range of young regional artists and productions. Apart from the main performances, they’ve prepared a rich side program around the tent and in the tent itself. There will be plenty of interesting workshops for professionals, amateurs and kids, various visual installations, seminars, tattoo lottery, exhibitions, music, food, drinks and more.
Since it is a regional festival in the service of regional circus scene development, CirkoBalkana program strongly underlines the regional selection and in 7th edition will present even five regional circus premieres- such as Malinada collective with the “(Un) connencted “, Petroleja Štulić: “ Pushing BO (un) D (ar) IES “, Danka Sekulović with” Not the Right Leg “, Trycicle Trauma & House of extreme music theatre with a performance: “Formed in position”, as well as MismoNismo – CircusNext Platform’s laureates with the performance of “NOise Circus”.
