A little bit of dancing, a little bit of art and a whole lot of great Christmas gifts awaited the crowd gathered in front of Mestovic pavilion yesterday evening, as the sixth artOmat, the most unconventional Christmas market in Zagreb, opened its doors.
DJ Jogarde was in charge of filling the pavilion with good vibes as visitors strolled next to a hundred selected exhibitors offering different and offbeat Christmas presents. From homemade cookies, pates designer dresses and shirts, paintings, graphics, handmade jewelry, blankets, ornaments, illustrations, toys to the usual suspects of Christmas gifts like knitted socks, hats and scarfs, all done by local artists, designers and craftsmen/women.
Aside from shopping, visitors could participate in This Town Needs Posters‘ infinite DIY poster project or check out 123 poster made by local and regional artists, designers, copywriters, art collectives and studios for visual arts and culture magazine Vizkultura‘s ongoing project Plakatiranje (postering). During artOmat‘s eight day run, different collectives, artists and troupes will showcase their current projects, have workshops and do collaborative art with visitors.
