An exhibition Croatia. Full of Colors/ Croatie. Pleine de couleurs opened yesterday at the prestigious Carrousel du Louvre, part of the famous Louvre museum.
On display are 26 large-format photographs by Croatian photographer and adventurist Davor Rostuhar showing all of the Croatian regions, their nature, traditions, customs and people, with all colors of the seasons. The exhibition features informative and promotional tourist content about Croatia and the photographs are part of Rostuhar’s large project “Croatia from Above” which was published by National Geographic as its first photo monograph from Croatia.
Speaking on behalf of the organizers, the director of the Croatian Tourism Board, Kristjan Staničić, said: “We are proud that we can promote Croatia in the heart of Paris, because France is one of the most important markets for Croatian tourism. The French recognize Croatia as a land of rich cultural and historical heritage and quality gastronomy, and we are additionally looking forward to the growth of French interest, besides favourites Dubrovnik and Split, for destinations and regions like Zagreb, Istria, Kvarner and Slavonia”.
The exhibition was opened by Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and it was also attended by Croatian Minister of Tourism Gari Cappelli, Minister of Culture Nina Obuljen Koržinek, director of Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić and Mayor of the Paris’ 1st Arrondissement Jean-François Legaret.
It stays opened until November 20 with organizers expecting several million people to see it, as the venue itself is visited by more than three million people every year.
