The long-awaited first Croatian science-fiction film for children My Grandpa is an Alien will have its international premiere this week at the 22nd edition of the FIFEM Festival International du film pour enfants in Montreal. FIFEM’s rich film program focuses on stimulating child curiosity, promoting critical thinking and informed dialogue, and My Grandpa is an Alien is one of eight titles in its official competition.
In the same week, the film will also be featured in the official competition on the other side of the world, the JEF festival, program-oriented to expanding the perspectives for children and young people, which runs in Antwerp and five other Belgian cities by March 10. The first part of its international tour, Grandpa will conclude at the end of March at the festival devoted to the future, a key film festival in the Nordic countries, BUFF in Malmö.
The local audience will have the opportunity to watch Grandpa at the 7th International Children’s Film Showcase in Čakovec on March 5th, and on the 21st of March the film will be screened in cinemas throughout Croatia.
