FRIDAY, March 18th

SPREAD THE CULTURE – TUN OVA RIDDIM
Metropolis club, Avenija Dubrovnik 10, 10 pm

What started off as a semi closed dance off between different dance groups from Zagreb has now turned into a regular event where the guys and gals promote different kinds of urban dancing. This time it’s Dancehall. There’s going to be professional dancers showing of different moves, DJ’s, step ups and, well, a lot of dancing. The organizer say its a party and learning experience and everyone is invited no matter their level of dancing skill.

THE FINAL SOUND OF SILENCE
Tvornica Kulture, Subiceva street 2, 10 pm

The Silent in the Factory party is wrapping up its indoor season with one last loud burst of silence. As usual, there will be three channels of different music to choose from. For those not familiar with silent parties, each guest gets a set of their own headphones with three (or more) different frequencies. Everyone gets to choose what set they want to listen to and their choice is indicated by a different led light on the antenna. This time the red light is for the indie shoegaze crowds, the green light is all about retro, eurovision and trash, and on the blue channel there will be trap, hip hop and r’n’b.

Since releasing his debut EP on Ilian Tape label in 2012, Andrea has been gaining much popularity trougout Europe, constantly building up his techno with 90es breakbeats, IDM and house in combination with emotional melodies, abstract sounds and shrill kicks, making for an intense live experience.

SHE LOVES PABLO

Celebrating ten years of existence and promoting their new album, She Loves Pablo will hold two celebratory concerts at KSET, one on Friday and one on Saturday. Friday is reserved for promoting their latest album Try Mandarin, when the band will play all the songs from it and some of their earlier hits. On Saturday, She Loves Pablo will take a trip down memory lane of their careers playing songs from all their albums. The Dutch band Obese will be the opening act, and these concerts mark the start of She Loves Pablos’s EU tour.

MIKI SOLUS AND A DAME

In the last couple of years Miki Solus have turned from ambitious local street performers to front runners of the new wave of alt bands from Zagreb. Mixing jazzy progressions and seemingly nonchalant arrangements with the whitest rapping ever, Miki explores different pop culture phenomena and modern lifestyles with references to literature, philosophy, classical music, art and other high culture creating an lighthearted experience both funny, tongue in cheek and poignant.

SATURDAY, March 19th

HYPNOTIZE w/ DJ INDY
Katran, Radnicka cesta 27, 11 pm

DJ Indy will make a hypnotizing stew of R’n’B, Disco, House, Pop and Rock for the dance floor workers in the old abandoned tar factory turned club. The brave ones can aim for free drinks, literally. When you order 4 schnapps you get to aim at a target and if you score, you get one or two drinks free, depending on that score. While DJ Indy is spinning on the Katran floor, Shock Show floor will be all about the Irish and cardigans.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY: JOLLY ROGERS

St Patrick’s day in Zagreb can’t go without a Jolly Rogers concert. The Celtic punk band follows in the footsteps of Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys, playing their own songs but also incorporating a variety of traditional songs with a punk twist.

Masters is presenting Split’s club scene this Saturday, with Pivalica headlining. DJing for 20 years around Split, holding residency in popular Metropolis club and recently starting E Nights program in Kameleon club, featuring young deep house DJs, Pivalica is a household name of the seaside club scene guaranteed to make your feet move.
