Famous Monsters, a band named after one of the best albums released by their idols, The Misfits (originally named after a horror magazine, Famous Monsters of Filmland), will entertain you this Saturday at Vintage Industrial Bar. It′s Halloween, and for this special occasion, for more than two straight hours the Monsters will perform the greatest hits of the greatest horror punk band in history – The Misfits. These pioneers of the horror punk and psychobilly subculture formed in 1977. They are known to combine the best of punk rock, heavy metal, rockabilly and 1950′s rock and roll to create their unique style. The inspiration for their songs comes from horror and sci-fi movies followed by their original makeup, clothing and artwork. Their lyrics are mostly drawn from B production movies and TV shows from 1950s-1970s as well as horror comics and books. Here lies their connection with Halloween.
Enough said about legends. Let′s talk about Famous Monsters.
The “Croatian Misfits” were formed in 2003 in Zagreb by a group of friends sharing the same love and obsession for Misfits music and legacy. In more than ten years of existence they changed the name of the band several times – they started with Horror Business, changed to Devils Whorehouse and finally set to Famous Monsters. Monsters are Beli, Vilim, Bojan and Plajo, and the Croatian audience knows them from different music projects. All members gained music experience playing in local underground bands such as Deafness by Noise, Stepping Stone, The Rite of Retaliation, Mikrofonija, Mašinko, Antenat and many more. If you missed their previous gigs, then definitely make sure you catch them this time. Their performance is a real horror show intertwined by classics such as Green Hell, Last Caress, She, Dig Up Her Bones, Helena, Ghouls Night Out, and, of course, Halloween. The show starts at 22PM and tickets are available at the club entrance for 20 kn.
