Medvednica, one of the most popular weekend hike routes for those in Zagreb vicinity, just got plans for a new cable car. It has been ten years since old cable car was put out of order and there have been rumours that a new one will take its place ever since.
The wait is hopefully over. Mayor has announced that the plan for a new cable car is in place with its first stage – removing the old infrastructure – already set in motion. It is estimated that the project will be finished by the end of 2018.
Twenty-minute ride in old cable car, taking you to the peak of Medvednica – Sljeme with aerial route above the treetops, was an enchanting experience and we don’t expect that to change with the new one.
