Queens Of The Stone Age founded Joshua Homme after the breakup of the legendary Kyuss in 1996 in Palm Desert, California under the original name Gamma Ray. In 1997, the band changed its name to Queens of The Stone Age, and in 1998 released the well-known debut album of the same name and went on a tour with former Kyuss members and enhanced with guitarist Dave Catching. Followed by “Rated R” in 2000 and the cult album “Songs For The Deaf” in 2002, when the drumsticks were taken over by Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters and Nirvana, a longtime fan of QOTSA and Kyuss, and Homme’s many projects on which they will continue to cooperate in the future. In 2004, Nick Oliveri left the band, turning to the recording of the new material released in 2005 under the title “Lullabies to Paralyze”. Strongly positioned as the most prestigious stoner rock band in the world, QOTSA released “Era Vulgaris” in 2007 and after the break of 2013, their most ambitious album by then “… Like Clockwork”. The long-awaited seventh studio album “Villains” was released on August 25 this year and Queens of the Stone Age is premiering it at the forthcoming INmusic festival #13!
