The sun has finally decided to poke its head from behind the rainy clouds that have loomed over Zagreb for the past three weeks, just in time for one of our personal favorite events of the late spring in Zagreb – Screen on the Green.
Screen on the Green is a combination of free concerts, open air cinema and picnic gatherings held on meadows around Zagreb for three weekends in a row (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays), starting from May 20th and lasting until June 5th, each weekend on a different meadow.
The events start with a concert from a local band, followed by screenings of recently produced international films at 9pm (a few shorts and a feature length film afterwards). People can come at any time during the day and find their spot on the grass, have a picnic or just enjoy the films, with popcorn and a bar provided for those that came unprepared.
