For the second year running, the Association of European Film Commissions is launching the EUFCN Location Award, the award for the best European location in the film and TV industries. Among this year’s candidates there’s also one Croatian location – the island of Vis, where the movie Mamma Mia Here We Go Again was shot.
The EUFCN award is organized in cooperation with Cineeuropa, whose website is open for voting until November 30th. You can also participate and support Vis by voting here!
Vis is one of the most beautiful islands in the Adriatic Sea, and it is the furthest from the coast and the most enigmatic of all the inhabited Croatian islands. This isolation preserved the island and its authenticity. Vis plays the key part in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again film, where It stars as fictional island Kalokairi, and is represented as a paradise island.
The EUFCN has 90 members from 30 countries that promote European filming sites and the film industry. The European Film Location Award was first organized last year, marking the 10th anniversary of the EUFCN’s activity. The award was won by the city of Görlitz, which was the location of Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel.
