This Saturday, Zagreb Zoo celebrates its 94th birthday, as well as the International Lynx Day! Educational-entertainment programme in the Zoo will last from 11 am to 6 pm and the central celebration will be exactly at noon at Zebra Square. After cutting the cake, a concert hall will be held by the Zagreb Rock Quartet Gretta.

Zagreb Zoo is a seven-hectare (17-acre) zoo located within Maksimir Park in Zagreb, Croatia and is across the street from Zagreb’s Stadion Maksimir. It is one of Croatian’s three zoo parks, and is a member of both the European and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Our Zoo is also a participant in the European Endangered Species Programme.
The zoo opened its doors on June 27, 1925. Reconstruction of the old zoo began in 1990. In October 2016. first part of the Zoo reconstruction and modernization was finished.
