Downtown Zagreb celebrates its birthday on Wednesday with discounts, free activities and concerts

Donji grad or Downtown Zagreb Day is celebrated each year on September 23d with different cultural and sport activities around the city. This year, the bulk of activities will be held on Petar Preradovic square with different bars, restaurants and institutions participating.

Starting from 19h, associations using the communal building in Sestara Bakalic passage will present their work to the public, from standard dancing, karate and capoeira lessons to miniature collectors club’ showcase (with a lot of Warhammer for the geeks out there).

A number of bars situated on the square will offer discounts on selected beverages throughout the day, including Oranž bistro & vine bar, Maraschino Bar, Carling Pub and  Supercaffe.

The band Jantar will hold a free concert in the courtyard of Varsavska street 16 starting at 20h, and Gavella theater in Frankopanska street will give away free tickets to their play 4th Sister starting at 19:30h.

In Josip Racki studio gallery, Margaretska street 3, an exhibition by Miljenko Domijan – Paris notes and flaneuring (flaneur= a person who wonders the city) will be opened for public from 17h.
