One of the most famous names of the architectural scene, the famous Milan architect Stefano Boeri, is coming to Zagreb this Fall to host a lecture on “From vertical forest to forest town: new models of sustainable urbanism” within the InDizajn fair.
University professor, author of professional books and owner of architectural study Stefano Boeri has designed stadiums, shopping centers and some of the most beautiful and most luxurious villas in the world during his rich career, but he gained the greatest popularity through the ‘Bosco Verticale’ or ‘Vertical Forest‘ through which he returns greenery to the urban environments. The original concept, which Boeri later applied in various variants in other projects around the world, consists of two skyscrapers inside which are located luxurious flats with terraces full of trees and plants, about 10,000 square meters of vegetation.
Boeri’s activity is focused on protecting and increasing the green areas in the city, creating new parks and gardens, transforming city roofs into lawns and gardens, walls and urban barriers into green facades, and urban gaps and yards into a green oasis. Today, apart from Milan, Boeri has offices in Tirana and Shanghai, and his lecture on InDizajn Festival is included in Program of Professional Development of the Croatian Chamber of Architects.
The fourth edition of ‘InDizajn – Festival of Modern Home’ will be held from September 26 to 29, 2019 at the Zagreb Arena, and will include many professional lectures, interesting panel discussions, numerous creative workshops and novelties from the world of design and interior design.
‘Bazar’ is surely the most attractive and vital part of the fair that gathers great young and talented Croatian artists, product designers and small manufacturers. Visitors can support them by buying their products such as coasters, cushions or art at discounted prices during the fair. Young art talents from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb will present their paintings, sculptures and graphic works as well within the Cash & Carry Project, and vsitors will have the opportunity to buy something they like directly from the artists.
