South African electro-rap duo known as Die Antwoord is coming to Zagreb! On June 13th for the first time, they will perform in front of the Croatian audience at Zagrebacki velesajam (Zagreb Fair). This will be their only appearance in the region during the current tour. Except for Croatia, Die Antwoord will play in next European countries: Poland (3rd June), Spain (17th June and 13th August),Netherlands (18th June), Iceland (19th June), Belgium (17th August), Austria (20th August) and UK (26th and 27th August).
Tickets go on sale on Friday, April 8th at the price of 150 kn, 170 kn and 200 (day of the concert). They can be purchased at Eventim and Zagreb music bookstore Rockmark).
Die Antwoord is a South African rap-rave group formed in Cape Town in 2008. The group was formed by rappers Ninja and Yolandi Visser and DJ Hi-Tek. Die Antwoord’s image is based on a counterculture movement known as zef in South Africa, and incorporated elements of the work of photographer Roger Ballen.
They released their debut album, $O$ (2009), online for free and attracted international attention for their music with a video for ‘Enter the Ninja’. After briefly signing with Interscope Records, in 2011, they founded their label Zef Recordz and released their second and third studio albums, Ten$Ion (2012) and Donker Mag (2014).
They have described their work as ‘documentary fiction’ and ‘exaggerated experience’ designed for shock value.
