Fifth in a row Zagreb Design Week takes place on a new location- in a hall 5 of The Nikola Tesla Technical Museum. This year’s festival also includes around 50 more partner locations such as boutique Špina & Florim Ceramiche, Outofbox, Project Perivoj, shop Male stvari, Diesel and many more.
It is opened from till May 20th. Zagreb Design Week is the biggest design festival in Croatia and it gathers around 350 exhibitors from all over the world who present their jewelry, fashion and furniture design to the Croatian public. Partner country of this year’s festival is Czech Republic. Visitors therefore have the opportunity to enjoy exhibition The Story of Czech Design: From Cubism to the 21st century.
This year’s theme „contemporary vs. timeless“ examines the relationship between design and time, raises questions about what it is that makes design contemporary or timeless and for how long can one design be notable in a modern world where everything changes so fast. During this year’s Zagreb Design Week you’re also able to see special installation made by 8 Croatian design students called „Pink my ride!“ in which they used Mercedes W123, a symbol of Croatian immigrants, as an object of design.
The entrance to the opening evening is free of charge and for the rest of the festival visitors can buy festival ticket for 100 HRK or daily ticket for 20 HRK. For more information about locations and programme visit their Facebook or the official web page.
