In 2005 the first women slalom competition was organized at Sljeme for World Ski Cup, in 2008 the competition expanded to include men, and today it is one of the most popular races of the World Cup.
The hype is about to get real! The Snow Queen Trophy is only a few weeks out. In January, the women’s slalom will take place on Tuesday 3rd, and men will take over the track on Thursday 5th. The winners will be proclaimed as Snow King and Snow Queen and unlike on any other race, they will be given crowns. The start of the race is located at 985 meters above sea level and it takes place on the Sljeme red skiing track.
The Snow Queen Trophy entered the Club5 Ski Classics and is on par with famous races such as Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Kitzbühel, Wengen, Val d’Isere and others. It is also one of the most visited women’s race in the World Cup.
