The World Festival of Animated Film – Animafest Zagreb is taking place for the 28th time from 4th to 9th June at different locations across the city.
Thanks to the famous Zagreb School of Animation, Animafest Zagreb was born in 1972 and it’s the second oldest film festival in the world completely dedicated to the animation. Since then it has been bringing the joys of the finest global animation to local and foreign audiences in Zagreb.
Some of the festival locations are one of the most beautiful parks – Ribnjak, Gradec and Tuškanac summer open air stages, Art Park and the Grič Tunnel. Throughout six unforgettable days, the festival competitions, presentations, exhibitions, lectures and workshops will provide an insight into contemporary animated production.
Organisers like to call this festival „a festival by the filmmakers for the filmmakers“ and by this time filmmakers from all over the world know that coming to Zagreb means joining friends, colleagues and an audience that recognizes, appreciates and loves their works.
This year’s Kids and Young program is especially rich and it will mostly be held at the cinema Kinoteka with the schedule customized to fit parents, kindergartens and schools.
