The Old Continent is full of great places where you can spend your winter holidays, but just a few of them are champions in the category of Xmas celebrations. Our beloved Zagreb is one of them! According to the European Best Destinations website, the Croatian Capital is nominated as one of the best places to celebrate Christmas. It offers a great event called Advent in Zagreb, which takes place from 28th of November until the 10th of January. During this period the streets and squares of Zagreb are going to be decorated with Christmas lights, big Santas will walk around the city, every square will have a theme party, the scent of cinnamon, vanilla sugar, sausages and wine will spread all around the centre. Zagreb will turn into a magical city from a fairy tale, so if you decide to come for a visit before and after Christmas, we promise an unforgettable experience.
Every year , the main square becomes a big stage for staging theatre plays and there are concerts scheduled from dawn till dusk. Park Zrinjevac turns into a big factory of the best delicacies the city has to offer, Cvjetni Square and Bogoviceva street transform into a big marketplace of traditional souvenirs, and Tomiceva & Kurelceva streets become the best places for fooling around at the festival called Fooliranje.
