19 Years Since the Premiere of ‘Marlene Dietrich’ Monoshow

The Marlene Dietrich ‘monoshow’ premiered nineteen years ago, on December 18th, 1999 at the Foyer of the Croatian National Theater in Split. In the meantime, Ksenija Prohaska performed her show more than 400 times in several different languages such as Italian, English and Spanish, in more than 15 countries all over the world.

Director Ivan Leo Lemo presented famous actress Marlene Dietrich not as a celebrity she was, but as a real woman dealing with complex life problems, through the motives of her marriage, love, show business and relationship with her son and towards war. The show consists of 11 monologues and 13 songs.

At the international festival Cividale del Friuli in Italy, in 2005, Prohaska won Premio Adelaide Ristori award for the best actress of the festival. Prohaska’s performance was regularly awarded with the highest ratings from different critics and the audience enjoyed the show every time. Among others, show visited Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, New York, San Pedro etc. and many international shows such as ones in Venezuela, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Moldavia…
