For the sixth year in a row Cinema Europa, in association with the Italian Institute of Culture in Zagreb and Venice Film Festival – Mostra, presents a selection of films from one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world.
This year the program takes place from 10th to 16th March and includes eight films from the latest Venice Film Festival held in September 2018. The sixth edition of Venice in Zagreb will be opened with a classic – Death in Venice (1971), a timeless work by Italian filmmaker Luchino Visconti. This extremely successful historical reconstruction of the gloomy mood that affected the European aristocracy at the turn of the centuries is the adaptation of the literary work of the Nobel Prize winner Thomas Mann.
The program continues with historical drama Capri-Revolution (2018), The Armadillo Prophecy (La profezia dell’armadillo, 2018), comedy The Young Fan (Il ragazzo più felice del mondo, 2018), drama If Life Gives You Lemons (Un giorno all’improvviso, 2018), The Stolen Caravaggio (Una storia senza nome, 2018) and two documentaries ’24/25 Il fotogramma in più’ (2018) and ‘1938 Diversi’ (2018).
