Croatian Films at the Dutch ‘Go Short’ Festival

The 11th edition of Go Short will take place between the 3rd and the 7th of April 2019 in Nijmegen, Netherlands. Three Croatian short films will be screened at this year’s main short film festival in the Netherlands – Tina by Dubravka Turić, Lovebox by Ivan Turković and White Crow of Miran Miošić.

Dubravka Turić’s short film Tina will have its world premiere as part of the European Competition program. The film revolves around Tina (actress Lana Barić) who is trying to revive the holiday rituals of her now gone family while festivities and fireworks of the New Year’s Eve celebration keep intruding into her private space, intensifying the feelings of emptiness and loss. After the Go Short, Tina can be seen at the International Short Film Festival FILMFEST in Dresden, Germany.

Except Tina, the Go Short Festival will also feature a short film by Miran Miošić – White Crow, within the program designed for children over the age of four. The White Crow premiered at the last year’s edition of Zagreb’s Animafest, and has since ‘visited’ a number of festivals in Croatia and abroad. It was proclaimed the best short animated film at Tuzla Film Festival 2018.

Short film Lovebox by a director Ivan Turković Krnjak will be featured in a program designed for films dealing with the theme of love in the times of Tinder. Lovebox had its world premiere at the 28th edition of the International Short Film Festival in Rio de Janeiro – Curta Cinema.

Aside from the competitions Go Short each year offers an extensive program of events, talks, workshops, parties and meeting points for the film makers, the public and other stakeholders.
