Marking of the Days of European Heritage has for many years put into focus preserving the heritage of the European continent and will traditionally be held in Croatia during September and October.
Preserving culture has been an important factor throughout history and these days are dedicated to sharing knowledge and raising awareness about our own heritage, as well as the values of other cultures, based on mutual tolerance and respect.
The opening ceremony of the central exhibition of Blaca desert – culture and landscape will be held on 20 September 2017 at 19:00, at the HIPA Glyptotheque, in Zagreb.
This exhibition aims to present the former cleric hermitage of the Blaca desert which is governed today, just like it always was, with high consciousness about the essential connection between man and nature.
Since this year’s theme is ‘Hertiage and Nature: Landscape of Opportunities’ for most of the European countries, this exhibition seems like the perfect one to emphasize the need for exploration of diversity and cultural values with the goal of conserving the nature, heritage and landscape for future generations.
In numerous settlements throughout Croatia, from Vukovar to Konavle, exhibitions, lectures, presentations, workshops, tours and other contents have been organized to call the attention to the importance of the interaction of man with nature in today’s high-tech age and to position those connections as the foundation and source of human artistic creation.
The European Year of Cultural Heritage will have long and varied manifestations which will be marked throughout 2018.
