Exhibition : Mosquitoes – The Deadliest Animals on Earth

Exhibition organised by Croatian Natural History Museum „Mosquitoes – The Deadliest Animals on Earth“ opened yesterday. The idea for this expo is a result of cooperation between Croatian Natural History Museum, Andrija Štampar Teaching Institute of Public Health and Institute for Public Health of the Istrian County.

There will be presented valuable mosquitoes collections, important biological characteristics of this species as well as the mosquitoes life cycle. Visitors will also be able to see the hologram display of various mosquitoes and to learn more about useful mosquitoes suppression methods.

Did you know that mosquitoes cause more deaths than any other animal on planet by transmitting the cause of numerous diseases, that only female mosquitoes suck blood or that so far there is around 3500 different types of mosquitoes described? You can find out more interesting facts by visiting Croatian Natural History Museum, the expo stays open until the end of this year.

The exhibition is dedicated to the dr. Enriho Merdić to acknowledge his scientific contribution to this topic in Croatia.
