Rainbow Warrior III, the Greenpeace flagship, moored in Dubrovnik this weekend. Upon arrival, they immediately set the message ‘Less Plastic, More Mediterranean’ in front of the Old Town of Dubrovnik, pointing out the danger of pollution of our seas.
The ship was custom built to fit the needs of the Greenpeace International activists group for their awareness campaigns and scientific research.
This is not the first time Greenpeace arrived in Dubrovnik – in 2006, Rainbow Warrior moored in front of the Palace Hotel, at the time venue for the ICCAT (International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas) highlighting the problem of tuna farming.
Today, they are pointing out the problem of the growing plastic pollution and plastic waste in the sea, especially on our islands, brought to our shores from nearby countries – a problem that should be addressed properly.
