Living in Today’s World – Week of Documentary Films at Summer Stage Tuškanac

The Summer Stage Tuškanac brings us once again a noteworthy repertoire filled with quite a few fresh and informative documentary movies. The screenings will take place next week from August 1st until 5th on (you guessed it) the Tuškanac Summer Stage.

The titles are organized around ever-popular themes which tackle the questions of living in today’s world: questioning our current regimes,  how advancements different advancements shape our lifestyles, what it all means for us – the little people and much more.

Repertoire will be the following:

Tuesday, August 1st – Liberation Day (2016) a musical documentary exploring two famous statements: All art is propaganda. – George Orwell; …and all propaganda is art – Laibach.

Wednesday, August 2nd – Under the Sun (2015) is a Russian documentary that follows a year in the life of a family in Pyongyang (capital of North Korea).

Thursday, August 3rd – Lo and Behold, Reveries of the Connected World (2016) will shed some light on the implications of the Internet and this connected wold.

Friday, August 4th – The Yes Men Are Revolting (2014) is a documentary filmed as a waking call that uncovers environmental dangers and corporate greed.

Saturday, August 5th – Democracy: Im Rausch der Daten (2015) is a compelling story of how a group of politicians is trying to protect today’s society against the impact of Big Data and mass surveillance.
