One of the world’s prime pianists and conductors sir András Schiff performed in the Lisinski Concert Hall on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 together with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment he has been collaborating with since 2013.
András Schiff, Knight Bachelor for services to music, honorable member of the Beethoven House in Bonn is a recipient of the Mozart Gold Medal and numerous other international awards and honors. Since 1986, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment composed of talented, curious and playful musicians has been presenting to modern audiences older period music, and then also music from the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century authentically, with a lot of knowledge and skills and, above all, passion. For Zagreb audience to enjoy the highest level of quality, the prestigious piano was delivered. This expensive instrument comes from the renowned workshop of Julius Blüthner, a member of the “great four” of the piano making masters.
The visitors of the Saturday at Lisinski had an opportunity to hear: Schumann’s Concertpiece for Four Horns, Op. 86 and his Symphony No. 4, Op. 120, as well as Brahms’s „gigantic“ Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 1, Op. 15.
