If you happened to be in Zagreb, and you want a little escape from it, Varazdin is the new place for you. From the 21st to 30th of August you will find a multitude of musical and other cultural events there. The occasion is the new release of the Spancirfest. Street performances, concerts, wine, city park of creativity, theater plays… do you need more reasons to visit Varazdin?
In a sea of rich content, we will highlight just a few particular events – the concerts of famous bands like Mando Diao, Parov Stelar Band, Gogol Bordello, Nouvelle Vague, but no less important great regional music attractions – Dubioza Kolektiv, Bajaga i Instruktori, Edo Maajka, Amira Medunjanin, Detour and others.
The novelty of this years Spancirfest is Wine City, the place for wine lovers and wine enthusiasts. Wine city will be built in the charming baroque courtyard of the Sermage palace, taking the total surface of 600 square meters. The idea of organizers is to set 20 chic houses where you can taste and buy wines (by glass and bottle) on popular prices. Spancirfest has prepared 10 themed tastings for 10 days aiming to introduce Croatian wine regions, from continental Slavonia via Croatian Uplands to Istria and Dalmatia.
The basic idea of the festival is to make sure that during the period of the 10 days of the festival most visitors feel they belong to a particular cultural community that cultivates creative thinking, imagination and freedom of expression. So what are you waiting for?
