Wednesday Brings Open Air Concerts Celebrating “Fête de la Musique”

World Music Day, also known as Fête de la Musique, is a yearly music celebration that takes place on June 21st.

On that day amateurs and professionals are encouraged to perform in the streets. Many free concerts are organized, making the music publicly accessible. The first Fête de la Musique was organized in Paris with the caveat that all concerts must be free to the public, and all performers donate their time for free. The festival is ever since celebrated by numerous countries all over the world.

Zagreb will hold numerous events for the occasion. The locations include Bogovićeva St (by Kožarić’s Sun), Tomićeva St, Miškecov prolaz, Trg maršala Tita, Cvjetni trg, Europski trg, Zrinjevac (pavilion), Tkalčićeva St (the cornet of Tkalčićeva and Krvavi most), Britanski trg and Trg bana Jelačića.

Another musical event that will be held on Kralj Tomislav square is the performance of Croatian Radio-Television Symphony Orchestra and Choir.
