From 25 April to 5 May 2019 Strossmayer’s Square in Zagreb becomes a home of the Welcome Spring Festival. The festival that traditionally opens the season of open-air events in the Croatian capital, was created as a result of combination of love for nature, environment, food, drinks and good entertainment.
The Festival aims to teach the visitors everything about environmental preservation, sustainable development, recycling and sorting of waste, and to offer them lots of fun, laugh, dancing and singing. Ultimately, the organizers want to show that one can be creative, eat and drink fine with minimal waste.
In order to truly make the Festival a place of positive change, the festival hosts will not use single-use plastics. That makes the Welcome Spring Festival the first festival in Zagreb, where cups, plates, straws and other supplies will be made of 100% biodegradable materials. The Festival offers a really rich and varied educational program intertwined with various lectures, workshops, performances, entertainment games, performances and concerts.
