Woody Allen Retrospective at Tuškanac Cinema

As a part of the retrospective program “Portraits: The Wittily Universe of Woody Allen,” Tuškanac cinema will feature 17 films of one of the most important directors of American and world cinematography from January 7th till 15th.

Out of the fifty films directed by Allen since the beginning of the 1960s, Tuškanac chose to feature films from period 1971- 1993. These are the films that became planetary popular as anarchic comedies and a humorous depiction of a neurotic, cynical and brutal urban intellectual of Jewish origin living in New York, faced with love difficulties and moral, intellectual and philosophical doubts.

The program opens on January 7th with one of Allen’s most successful plays, a humorous drama nominated for the Oscar “Crimes and Misdemeanors” (1989), in which he philosophically elaborates the theses about the injustice of life and how crime is worth of doing.
