21st October: International Archeology Day and Free Exhibitions

The International Archeological Day falls on October 21st and the Zagreb Archeological Museum prepared a treat for its visitors!

Entrance to the Zrinjevac Museum of Archeological Discoveries will be free throughout the day, along with free guided tours and free workshops for children and adults.

At 12 o’clock in the large hall on the first floor a popular lecture on “Archeology in Film and Archeology in Reality” will be held by museum advisor dr.sc. Jacqueline Balen in which we find the difference between what archeology is and what the film industry sees it.

After the lecture, the EU project Iron-Age-Danube will be presented, which aims to explore and promote the oldest Iron Age landscapes in the Danube region.

The International Day of Archeology is a manifestation that seeks to promote archaeology and inspire the research spirit, and since 2011 it is traditionally held on the third Saturday in October.
