International Folklore Festival: ‘Heritage and Migrations’

The International Folklore Festival was presented at the press conference at Vatroslav Lisinski hall. The festival being held for the 52nd time in Zagreb, from this Wednesday 18 July until Sunday 22 July. This years IFF will present the theme Heritage and Migrations on two main stages, on the Upper Town and the main city square – Ban Jelačić Square with a lot of accompanying events, concerts, exhibitions and workshops. In addition, there is one more stage at Bundek realized in cooperation with Bundek Summer Stage.

IFF is being held in Zagreb since 1966 with objective to present and affirm traditional culture and folklore of numerous local and international participants from all continents. It gathers a wide public and folklore connoisseurs for decades and it has become a part of the global movement led by the UNESCO that aims to safeguard and promote the intangible cultural heritage. In 2014, the Croatian Ministry of Culture and the City of Zagreb pronounced it as a festival of national significance.
