Suzan Pitt: Winner of the ‘Animafest’ Lifetime Achievement Award

American artist Suzan Pitt (1943), who worked in animation, painting, fashion and featured work in a variety of different media, won the Life Achievement Award of the 29th Animafest Zagreb – Animated Film Festival. The award ceremony will be held at the opening of the Animafest 2019, on 3rd of July 2019.

The Council of the Festival made the decision unanimously and in its explanation they’ve pointed out that Suzan Pitt, during her rich career worked in a variety of media and linked that different media through the landscapes, urban spaces, popular culture, opera and contemporary art.

Pitt’s artistic creation began in the media of painting, after, she expanded her interest in animation, performing arts and clothes painting. She was born in Kansas City and spent most of her life between Europe and America. Throughout the years, Pitt has created a very recognizable, fascinating film opus (Asparagus, Joy Street, El Doctor, Visitation …), that is often screened during the recognized film festivals such as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles, Sundance Film Festival, New York Film Festival and others.
