Zagreb Book Festival is being held from 21st till 27th of May at the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb. This international festival of literature is traditionally organized in May for the fourth time now.
The festival was originally founded in a belief that the arts and literature are the foundation of every society and with the idea of bringing writers and their audience closer together.Every year the festival has a different topic. This year’s topic is #selfie culture, regarding influence modern technology has on socio-political, economic and identity issues as well on the art itself.
You can expect book promotions, concerts and great kids programme. But what’s even more important is a number of panel discussions about this year’s topic, such as „Dickens on Twitter: Literature and Technology“ that will be held this Sunday by Macedonian poet and translator Lidija Dimikovska as well as Croatian writers Tanja Mravak and Damir Karakaš.
Zagreb Book Festival is slowly becoming a great platform for encounter of the people with the similar values and for deepening public’s interest for literature, reading and thinking.
